I've been a L-O-N-G time user of Plaxo, perhaps as early as the first beta releases. I have to admit I've been pretty passive for all these years, but playing around with it recently made me realize that the one gripe I have about Plaxo still hasn't been fixed... and its my fault for never reporting it.
When most Americans put their phone numbers into Plaxo (or anywhere, really) they omit the "+1" prefix. So, when Plaxo downloads new phone numbers for my contacts, it will typically look like "415-555-1111" or whatever. This will be kept in sync with Outlook, which will in turn be kept in sync with my mobile phone. This works great when I'm in the US... but as soon as I travel aboard, I now have to manually prefix a "+1" in front of record. Then, to add insult to injury -- when the contact updates the phone number, Plaxo dutifully removes my "+1" and the whole process repeats itself. I've noticed that this doesn't happen for people who live outside the US. Perhaps they know to prefix the "+44" or whatever to their phone numbers? Thoughts? |

I agree - this is a major annoyance, has been for some time and continues to be a problem. So much of s problem that Mobile.Me is looking like a good option.
Nothing like spending the time to get you international codes correct for travel, only to find that it is automatically wiped by Plaxo. Is there any light at the end of the tunnel for this problem? |
